![]() ![]() If you want to spend an enjoyable afternoon listening to a good story this would be a good one. This book had none of the foolishness in book two and did not go on an on like book three. I hate when the heroine continues to drone on about not wanting to be this or that way, willing to miss out of the love of her life until it is almost too late and then the story ends. I also liked that Betsy wised up before the very end of the book. He was wounded and changed by the war but not defeated. Their story was not tedious, full of unnecessary angst or self-destructive behavior by the hero which is all too often the result of PTSD. The intimate parts of the book were sensual, yet not overdone. These characters were very well developed and very likable. Betsy and Jeremy were great together and it was nice that you could see the relationship develop before the intimacy. ![]() This book outpaced them all three of the ones before it. I agree with one other reviewer's comments in that the first book was not bad, the second one was a huge disappointment and the third was better than the first two. ![]() I enjoyed every moment of listening to this story. ![]()
